  Considered one of the best punk bands in Canada at this time, Choke are known for their innovative style and intriguing musical sense. They create music that can only be classified by their dedication and love for it. Combining influences from jazz to punk to metal and more, Choke fosters a sound that is uniquely their own. It is a refreshing extension of the punk music that has influenced their song writing over the last 12 years. Since their inception in 1994, with original members Jack Jaggard, Clay Shea, Shawn Moncrieff and Stefan Levasseur, Choke have toured Canada and the USA non-stop and have established a reputation for their groundbreaking music and intense live shows. August 2004 saw them enter into the studio with producers Paul Forgues (Slayer, Nine Inch Nails) and Blair Calibaba (Propagandhi, No Means No) to record their sixth full length album, titled SLOW FADE OR: HOW I LEARNED TO QUESTION INFINITY.   From the rainforest of beautiful British columbia comes raised by apes, sometimes seen in the urban jungles around hastings and main in vancouver, these primates have been known to be extremely ferocious when it comes to punk rawk. Primarily surviving off of scotch, cigarettes and cheap beer from the Cobalt. They come down from their shaded canopies in the trees whenever the seasons are right, to destroy stages around the lower mainland and beyond. Kiiligan has slipped out of the rainforest and has recently been spotted in the mojave desert hunting for the place to unleash the rest of the ape tribe. Not an easily convinced tribe though and the mojave proved to be to dry of a climate for an invasion of the rainforest dwellers, look in the rain soaked climates of BC for the further adventures of the tribe.

  hockload came together Feb 2011 when Gtone (bass) relocated to Vancouver with the intention of reuniting with long time friend and band mate Ryan Ruin (vox/guitar). In need of a drummer, Ruin followed through on a lead he had about a ginger from Nova Scotia named Jamieson Vegas. Right from the word go it was obviously the right choice as the band quickly chiseled out a set and began playing wherever they could for whoever would listen! The 3 members of Shockload live to play live and are constantly working to advance their music and skills....
